Lambeth Council’s Skills and Employment Team works to support Lambeth’s residents to access good jobs and to improve their skills levels, improving the sustainability and resilience of the local labour market. The team works in close partnership with public sector bodies, voluntary sector organisations, and businesses to achieve positive change across the borough.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join Lambeth Council as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. You’ll join the Skills and Employment team at one of London’s most vibrant and diverse councils, using a range of digital tools to communicate with stakeholders across the borough. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about communication and marketing in the context of local government and you’ll be supported to develop the skills you will need for your career.

This is a great role for someone looking to start or develop their career in Digital Marketing and who is interested in working in local government or in the public sector. We’re looking for someone with good communication skills who is enthusiastic about engaging with different groups of people.

Key duties include:

  • Collect, write, and present marketing content, both digital and in other forms, to promote the work of the Skills and Employment team.
  • Support the team with the development of communications approaches, coordinate social media responses, and support on the production of content for communications as needed, including on websites.
  • Support with the coordination and promotion of a range of events including those to celebrate the achievements of the Skills and Employment team, to engage stakeholders with key programmes of work and to promote opportunities e.g., through apprenticeship events and jobs fairs.
  • Liaise with the corporate Communications Team at Lambeth Council and with teams across the council to support on integrating the work of the Skills and Employment team with the council’s wider message.

These posts would suit people who love working with others and finding the best ways to communicate. We would love to work with people who want to learn new skills and develop their future career.
