Band 7 – £24,054 - £26,845 pa
37 hours per week

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the below
  • To manage the SARS / Tribunals Tracker ensuring SEND enquiries, are logged, sent to the relevant parties for processing. To ensure this is coordinated in a timely manner in line with the Council’s corporate requirements for responses to residents and other agencies.
  • To support senior managers with formal responses to external agencies, political bodies and directly elected officials relating to SEND enquiries.
  • To ensure all correspondence is written in a sensitive and appropriate manner taking into account the audiences for which it is intended.
  • To co-ordinate and process responses for Subject Access Requests (SAR’s) and redact key areas as required for submission to requested persons.
  • To ensure that all responses for SEND are approved by the relevant officers across the Local Authority within the appropriate timeframes.
  • To be responsible for reading and checking finalised complaint responses, to ensure they read well, there are no typing errors, are spelt correctly and are grammatically accurate.
  • To ensure that proofread responses are passed to the relevant member of leadership team for approval and once signed, sent to the complainant.
  • To ensure that management systems and databases are updated accordingly with copies of the relevant enquiries, complaint or request for information.
  • To contribute towards the relevant management information dashboards and reports; showing trends in enquiries, complaints and requests for information governing SEND.
