The role reports to the Director of R&D - Engineer To Order and is located in Greenville, South Carolina. As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op, you will be working directly with mechanical engineers to support product development and testing of electric motors.

Your responsibilities

• Support development of custom motor product 10-2000 HP for three manufacturing locations. The primary tool of use is SolidWorks
• Work closely with senior development engineers to model new products
• Support product development testing
• Capable of learn basics of design and testing of electric motors
• Co-op engineer is expected to complete 3 semesters with ABB at the CUICAR location

Your background

• Be in Sophomore year degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with SolidWorks, or other modeling tools is required
• Strong team skills are required, but must also be able to work independently
• Good communication skills to work with other on the engineering team
• Experience with Word, and Excel is a plus
