Nexus-Indian Oaks is hiring a Unit Coordinator!

A member of the Nexus family of treatment programs, Nexus-Indian Oaks is located 50 miles south of Chicago in the small, rural community of Manteno, Illinois. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide structure and supervision of the daily operations of the program/unit to ensure successful coordination and implementation of each resident’s daily treatment services.
  • Participate as a multi-disciplinary team member in developing and implementing resident treatment plans and strategies.
  • Assist the Clinical Supervisor in the selection, training, ongoing professional development and performance evaluation of staff/team members.
  • Manage and monitor the program milieu and collaborate with coworkers to ensure an emotionally and physically safe environment for residents and one that is also positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic.
  • Perform other job and work-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed.
  • Ensure clients’ emotional and physical safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean, strengths-based, and therapeutic.
  • Participate with coworkers as a team on implementation of trauma-informed, strengths based treatment plans and therapeutic services.
  • Supervise members of the program team by selecting, training, providing direction, and evaluating direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a social work, psychology or clinically-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years job related experience in adolescent counseling and/or residential treatment program experience required, plus 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Illinois employees must meet the Medicaid qualification for an MHP in addition to the above requirements.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Corporate driving requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to assist staff in proper restraining of residents.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within the residential program.
