Position: Mid Network Engineer (Future)
Work Location: Quantico, VA
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI or be SCI eligible
Position Type / Standard Work Hours: Full-time / 40 hours / On-Site

Summary/ Objective:
Seeking a Mid Network Engineer to support a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) to provide Professional IT Support services in Quantico, VA.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Function as a mid-technical expert for network engineering and administration.
  • Install, configure, operate and maintain network equipment such as cable, switches, routers, firewalls, network monitoring devices, network management platforms.
  • Identify and analyze network issues.
  • Provide network engineering and technical services on AFOSI operational enclaves, AFOSI to AFNET points of presence and local testing network.
  • Build and implement network solutions, install and maintain network equipment, and troubleshoot/resolve network issues.
  • Develop and maintain network baseline documentation in accordance with configuration management standards.
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in IT field, with at least 3 years of experience in network engineering/administration.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment with thorough knowledge of routers and switches.
  • Experience with Cisco Multilayer network routers and switches.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE), SolarWinds is a plus.
  • Hands-on Experience with Juniper SRX and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.
  • Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
  • Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians.
  • Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements).
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Cisco certification.
  • Experience with USAF IT environment and networks.
  • Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize network infrastructures.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel:
Very little - less than 5%
